Week 13 story: Adventures in the Bakery

For this week's story, I decided to do a fun Twine rabbithole!

Author's note: I decided to do something a bit different with my storytelling this week. Rather than retell a specific story, I was inspired by the fairy tales from this week's readings and decided to write my own. I hope you find it fun!

  1. Emily,
Your stories are always my favorite to read. This is such a cool idea! I haven't tried this method of storytelling yet. I feel like it is great for mystery and horror stories. I also kind of feel like a wimp because I definitely took the option of getting out of that house as soon as possible. haha. I wonder what that person will finally have to eat? A juicy burger, maybe some tacos?

  2. SO MUCH FUN! I love the Twine site. I'm kind of addicted to it and you did a really great job here. The font is SUPER hard to read (black on black) but the story was fun. Of course, I did all the things that you aren't supposed to do in a scary story. But the bread was good! lol.
    Great job.

  3. Hi Emily!

This was so fun! I really love the rabbit-hole type stories like this one, and this one was so great! I went back through it a couple of times to see if there were any different endings, lol. The only critique I really have is that the black font on a dark gray background does make it pretty difficult to read. But the story itself was fun (although it did leave me wanting a lot of answers!).

  4. First off, you definitely deserve extra credit for this creative story-telling idea! I love the fact that you created an original. It was so fun to explore, and it felt very similar to playing a video game. After writing this comment, I'm probably gonna go back and choose different options. I do think it would have been cool to maybe put a picture of the old woman in there. The font is a little hard to read- perhaps changing the font to a lighter color would benefit the reader.

I kind of wish this was a little bit longer because I enjoyed it so much.

I want some warm and fresh bread :(

  5. Hello Emily!

First off i would just like to say that I love labyrinths. Stories like this always captivate my attention. I loved being able to find different paths and alternate endings. I spent more time looking throughout this post than all of the other posts I read today combined. Great job with this, I loved it.

  6. Hello again, Emily! A twine story, how fun! Not too many of those in this class. I have to say, some of the British and Celtic stories can be dark and scary. I was definitely anxious about what would happen if you snooped around the bakery. I still don’t trust that old woman. Or the invisible baker. Regardless, well done!
